Water Resistance
- For its cases, GIVI guarantees a degree of water resistance equivalent to a normal rain. Specifically, cases are tested with a special machine that simulates rain with a flow rate of 20 ltr/min, i.e. the regulatory requirement which simulates vertical and lateral rain. The case is put to the test to verify that it is protected against water spray from all directions.
- The maximum tolerance within which a GIVI case can be considered compliant with the regulations is 10cc. However, under certain conditions of use, water may penetrate inside the case. Examples of when possible water penetration may occur include going through large puddles (especially for side cases), or very powerful water sprays, such as when the vehicle is washed with a pressure lance or parked out in the rain.
- With regard to taking care of your case, GIVI strongly advises against the use of pressure lances. The company also recommends washing cases separately, after removing them from the motorcycle.
- Remember that the MONOLOCK range has been designed for urban use, and that some models do not feature the seal as the main characteristic of these cases is practicality combined with an affordable price.
